Bournemouth – (England) -: In today’s era, the world is impressed by the Indian culture and is eager to adopt it, while the Indian people are running after the western culture or should we say, the culture which does not exist in reality. Laxmangarh – (Sikar) resident poet Harish Sharma is running ‘Beta Padhao-Sanskar Sikhao’ campaign. The purpose of which is that if you educate your sons and teach them values, then there will be no need for protection for the daughters. When sons are intelligent and cultured then there is no danger to daughters.
Dr. Nirupama Upadhyay, General Secretary of Son Bachao-Sanskar Teach Abhiyan, has gone to England these days. On the lines of this campaign, he saw a sign written on a restaurant in Bournemouth city of England, PROTECT YOUR DAUGHTER crossed out and below it is written EDUCATE YOUR SON ‘Protect Your Daughter, Educate Your Son’. There was no limit to his surprise that the poet What is the importance of this campaign being run by Sharma in a small town. ‘Protect your daughter, educate your son’ i.e. if you want to keep your daughters safe then educate your sons, if your son studies, he will move forward, progress, he will have the wisdom to understand what is good and what is bad, he will get values and the society will You will get direction. If the sons are good and cultured then the daughters themselves will be safe. Neither will he do anything wrong to anyone’s daughter nor will he allow anyone to do it. Today even foreigners have started to understand this.
In fact, the Son Educate-Sanskar Teach campaign is very much needed in today’s society. Some poet had said, ‘If the matter has come out, it will go far’, then the echo of the voice of the heart of a poet-journalist has started being heard far and wide. A subject that seems strange to people has become socially useful. This should not be a campaign of any one, but of all of us. The daughters are all ours and the sons are also ours. Indian culture has adopted Vasudhev Kutumbakam in its life, then how can any step taken to show direction to the future generation of the country be different from mine and yours. There is nothing unacceptable in this. The joint efforts of all of us for the success of this campaign will definitely prove to be a milestone in improving the society.
We are seeing in foreign countries that our social traditions greatly influence the people here. Our celebrations, festivals, fairs, social events, marriage system, food system all have special importance but if our children behave contrary to their traditions then what will be the value of our culture.
Therefore, we all should fulfill our responsibilities towards our children and keep trying to make them educated and cultured, whether it is a son or a daughter. If children are happy then we are also happy. Therefore, there is no need for ‘Educate your son, teach values’ campaign.
