Tel Aviv (Uttam Hindu News): Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has released a photo of Hamas military commander Mohammed Deif, who has been missing for a long time. Def and Yahya Sinwar are held responsible by Israel for the October 7 massacre in southern Israel, in which 1,200 people were killed and more than 200 were abducted.
IDF spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari revealed the photo for the first time, saying it was one of approximately 70 million digital files recovered by the IDF in Gaza. The image was revealed when a different photo of Deaf, which had not been seen publicly for years, began circulating in Israeli media. The IDF said in a statement on Saturday that the recovered data also included details and information about Hamas officials based outside Gaza and had provided the army with important intelligence.
In the photo, Deaf was seen holding a plastic cup filled with a dark liquid in one hand and a wad of US dollar bills in the other. However, Israeli Hebrew media reported that the photo was from 2018 and was likely taken during a social event. There were earlier reports that Deaf had lost an arm and one or both legs in Israeli assassination attempts. Although both his hands are visible in the new photo, one of his eyes appears to be missing.
