India has once again sent huge help to the people of Afghanistan and has told the world that the relationship between India and Afghanistan is brotherly. Actually, Afghanistan is struggling with the terror of locusts these days. India has supplied 40 thousand liters of malothine to the people of Afghanistan to deal with locusts. The most interesting thing is that India has supplied this to Afghanistan by using Iran as a medium to attack Pakistan. As soon as India took this step, the Taliban government in Afghanistan started thanking India.
The Taliban-controlled Agriculture Ministry itself expressed gratitude and highlighted its importance in ensuring crop protection and food security in Afghanistan. Taliban’s Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Mawlawi Ataullah expressed his gratitude for India’s assistance. Expressing his gratitude in an official statement, he said that we are grateful to the Government of India and its people for supplying 40 thousand liters of chemical material (malathion) to the agricultural sector to prevent the menace of locusts. The aid was officially handed over in two trucks on January 22, a symbolic and important step in strengthening agricultural resilience in Afghanistan.
Malathion: An important tool in locust control
Malathion has proven to be an important tool in locust control, making it an ideal choice to combat the infestation in Afghanistan. Its effectiveness in dry areas suits the country’s climate, and its minimal water use addresses environmental concerns. Timely provision of this pesticide not only protects Afghan crops but also plays a vital role in ensuring food security in the region.
Preventing spread to neighboring countries
The assistance provided by India goes beyond addressing the immediate threat in Afghanistan. By providing assistance to combat the locust menace, India actively contributes to curbing the spread of locusts in neighboring Central Asian countries. This strategic move emphasizes regional cooperation in addressing shared challenges, promoting sustainability and resilience in the agricultural sector.
