Kathmandu: Foreign Minister Narayan Prakash Saud has said that Nepal is fortunate to have neighbors like India, who have contributed to the development of the Himalayan nation and its people. The External Affairs Minister said this while jointly inaugurating with Indian Ambassador Naveen Srivastava a new building of the Himalaya Kiran Public Campus constructed in eastern Nepal under Indian grant assistance of 3.7 crore Nepali rupees.
Established as Himalaya Middle School in the year 1949, postgraduate degree courses were started in 2005 at Himalaya Kiran Public Campus. More than 600 students study in it, out of which 60 percent are girls. Located in Sankhuwasabha district of Kosi province in eastern Nepal, this complex was inaugurated by Foreign Minister Saud and Indian Ambassador Srivastava on Wednesday.
Saud said it is a matter of pride and Nepal is fortunate to have neighbors like India who have contributed to the development of Nepal and its people. He said that I look forward to India’s continued support in Nepal’s development efforts. India continuously helps its neighboring country Nepal in economic and other ways.
A press release from the Indian Embassy in Nepal said the project has been implemented under ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’ at a cost of 3.7 crore Nepalese rupees. Srivastava said that this project is a symbol of the strong development partnership between India and Nepal.
