Russia’s Ambassador to India Denis Alipov has tweeted. He wrote, ‘A lot of analysis is being done these days about the consequences of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Russia. Many Indian experts are even starting to dream that Russia-China relations are harming the Russia-India strategic alignment. It is just a matter of thinking whatever you want in a way.
In fact, after Jinping’s visit to Moscow, some Indian experts have claimed that the growing strategic partnership between Russia and China could harm India’s interests. According to him, due to the military standoff since May 2020 in the eastern region of Ladakh, the tension between India and China remains intact. The armies of both countries have managed to reduce the number of troops at some of the friction points, but still 60,000 soldiers from both sides are still face to face at two points – Demchok and Depsang.

Speaking with Sputnik, Anil Trigunayat, a former Indian diplomat, refused to believe that the growing strategic partnership between Beijing and Moscow will in any way affect India-Russia relations. Trigunayat said that apart from China and America, many efforts are being made by the White House to stop China from fighting with other western countries. In such a situation, it is trying to take advantage of these relations by using Russia. If we believe in Trigunayat, the relationship between Russia and China will be very helpful to fight with America and other western powers.
India necessary for Russia
Talking about India-Russia-China relations, Trigunayat agreed that India is beneficial to Russia in many ways. India has historically been its major defense partner and is now its close strategic partner as well. After the Ukraine war that started in February 2022, till now, a large amount of crude oil has also been supplied to India from Russia. In such a situation, to think that because of China, the friendship between Russia and India will break, according to Trigunayat, it would be wrong.
