The Indian Overseas Congress has released a promotional video inviting Indian-Americans to interact with “visionary leader” Rahul Gandhi during his visit next month. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi (52) is scheduled to visit the US next week on a three-city tour. His visit will begin in San Francisco where he will interact with students at the prestigious Stanford University. He will also address a press conference and hold meetings with lawmakers and think tanks in Washington DC. His week-long visit will end with a massive public meeting in New York on June 4.
The Indian Overseas Congress on Friday released a promotional video featuring scenes from Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. The video invites NRIs to “for an exclusive conversation with the visionary leader”. The talk will take place at the Javits Center in New York. The video describes the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ as Rahul’s “transformative journey” and says it has ignited millions of hearts, brought people together and united the country. “This is your chance to boldly question authority and meet a leader who speaks to the nation’s changing needs,” the video message said. 5,000 people are expected to participate. Last week, Indian Overseas Congress president Sam Pitroda said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the US in June was aimed at promoting shared values of “real democracy”.
