Government of India in an effort to bring back the girl child

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that we are requesting Germany to return the girl (Ariah Shah) to India. She is an Indian national and was placed in Germany’s youth welfare custody in 2021 when she was 7 months old. Now he is in foster home for last 20 months. The Embassy has repeatedly urged the German authorities to ensure that Ariha’s connection with her cultural, religious and linguistic background is not compromised and that the child is provided with cultural immersion at the Indian Cultural Center in Berlin. Consular access was sought. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that we are urging the German authorities to make every effort to send Ariha to India at the earliest. We are determined to ensure Ariah Shah’s return to India.
