Earlier, a district court in Lahore acquitted PTI chairman Pervez Elahi in a corruption case, a day after he was arrested by Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) officials from outside his residence.
Significantly, on June 1, Chaudhary Parvez Elahi, chairman of Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was arrested outside his house in Lahore. Parvez Elahi is considered close to Imran. The video of them being dragged away also surfaced. Parvez has also been the Chief Minister of Punjab province of Pakistan. Punjab’s Acting Information Minister Aamir Mir said that the Anti-Corruption Unit with the help of the police arrested Parvez Elahi. He was wanted in a case related to terrorism. Earlier, Punjab Police had raided his residence to arrest Parvez.
Summoned Bushra Bibi
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Bushra Bibi, wife of PTI chief Imran Khan, on June 7 at 11 am for investigation in the Al-Qadir Trust case. In the call-up notice, the accountability watchdog directed Bushra Bibi to appear before its Rawalpindi office with documents related to registration, donation and other details of Al-Qadir University.
