Brigadier Shri DS Tripathi (Retd) said that Pakistan’s Army Chief may not have named any country but Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif claimed that terrorists involved in bloodshed in his country are getting shelter in neighboring Afghanistan.

This week in IndiaTheNews News Network’s special program Shaurya Path, we wanted to know from Brigadier Shri DS Tripathi (Retd) that when terrorist attacks increased in Pakistan, his army said that TTP getting modern weapons in the ‘neighboring country’ is one of the reasons for the increase in terrorist attacks. Do you think Pakistan has understood the meaning of cross-border terrorism being fueled. Also, how do you see the way Pakistan is getting loan on loan easily? In response, he said top Pakistani army officials have said in a veiled reference to Taliban-ruled Afghanistan that the safe haven and sophisticated weaponry available to terrorists of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in “a neighboring country” is one of the reasons behind the recent spurt in terrorist attacks. Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir did not name the neighboring country but is believed to be referring to Afghanistan, which Pakistan accused last week of allowing the banned TTP to remain active.

Brigadier Shri DS Tripathi (Retd) said that Pakistan’s Army Chief did not name any country but Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif claimed that terrorists who had caused bloodshed in his country were getting shelter in neighboring Afghanistan and Pakistan would not tolerate this anymore. Asif had said that Afghanistan was not performing its duty as a neighboring country and was not abiding by the Doha Agreement. He had said that fifty to six lakh Afghans have got shelter in Pakistan for 40 to 50 years with all rights. The Pakistani minister had said that but on the contrary, terrorists who shed the blood of Pakistanis can find shelter on Afghan soil. This situation cannot go on any longer. Pakistan will use all its resources to protect its soil and citizens.

Brig Shri DS Tripathi (Retd) said that but after Islamabad accused it of creating instability, the White House has said that there is no indication of Afghan refugees living in Pakistan or living along the border with Afghanistan being involved in terrorist acts. In the White House, National Security Spokesman John Kirby has said that we do not see any indication that Afghan refugees living in Pakistan or along its border with Afghanistan are involved in terrorist acts. John Kirby said that the United States appreciates Pakistan for helping such a large number of Afghan citizens and that we will continue to work with Pakistan to address the challenges of terrorism.

Brigadier Shri DS Tripathi (Retd) said that the Afghan Taliban has asked the Pakistan government to start the second round of talks with the banned terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). In Kabul, a top leader of the Afghan Taliban has told the Pakistan government that it should prefer peace over war. He said Pakistan sent its special envoy to Kabul on a three-day visit this week to send a clear message that Afghanistan’s Taliban-led interim government must take decisive action against the TTP. Special Envoy Ambassador Asad Durrani held talks with Afghanistan’s Acting Prime Minister Maulvi Abdul Kabir, Acting Foreign Minister Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaki and other officials during his visit. But after several meetings, the Afghan Taliban told him that Pakistan should move on the path of peace instead of using force. He said that since the Afghan Taliban came to power in Kabul in 2021, there has been a significant increase in TTP attacks in Pakistan.

Brigadier Shri DS Tripathi (Retd) said that as far as the debt of Pakistan is concerned, it is continuously increasing. Even the big countries of the world want that somehow this country should continue to survive, otherwise if terrorists dominate here, then a big problem can arise for the world. He said that apart from global institutions, Pakistan is getting loans from UAE and China only. Now China has also agreed to restructure Pakistan’s debt of more than two billion US dollars for two years. The decision will come as a big relief to the cash-strapped country, which is trying to increase foreign exchange reserves through fresh loans.
