Brigadier Shri DS Tripathi (Retd) said that the newly elected MPs of the country took oath after Pakistan President Arif Alvi called the session of the National Assembly. He said that the special thing was that three-time former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif also took oath as an ordinary member of the National Assembly. He said the first session of the new Parliament was held after Alvi’s initial refusal due to differences with the caretaker government over the issue of allotting reserved seats to candidates supported by former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party. He said the Speaker administered the oath to the newly elected MPs amid slogans raised by MPs supporting Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against alleged rigging in the February 8 general elections. He said the election for the post of Prime Minister is expected to be held on Saturday and under the post-poll agreement between PML-N and PPP, former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is certain to be elected as the new leader of the House. He said that in the elections, independent candidates supported by PTI party have won maximum 93 seats of the National Assembly. PML-N won 75 seats and PPP won 54 seats. Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) had won 17 seats.

Brigadier Shri DS Tripathi (Retd) said that since the coalition government being formed with the support of the country’s powerful “military” army high command and the intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence does not have the support of the public, it is unlikely to last long. is unlikely. He said that the first target of the new government will be to take loan from IMF but it will not be easy because Imran Khan has written a letter to IMF asking that the expenditure of the old loan should be audited before giving new loan. He said that the way Pakistani youth are coming out in support of Imran Khan, it seems that the new government will remain a guest for a few days only.
