Chinese Premier Li Jiang met with a delegation led by Susan Clark, President and CEO of the US Chamber of Commerce, in Beijing on February 28. During this, he said that the economies of China and America are highly complementary and the interests between the two are deeply integrated. Strengthening economic and trade cooperation is a win-win situation for both countries. Engaging in “separation, disengagement” and “high walls in small courtyards” is not in the fundamental interest of both parties.
Li Qiang said that this year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States. China is willing to work with the United States to implement the important consensus reached by the two presidents and promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations. China is promoting Chinese-style modernization on a large scale. American companies are welcomed to continue investing in China, enter the Chinese market, and share development opportunities together. It is hoped that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and entrepreneurs will continue to play an important role in promoting greater communication and mutual understanding between the two countries.
Clark said that relations between the US and China are extremely important, and separating the two countries is not a feasible option. The American Chamber of Commerce will seek to deepen US-China economic and trade relations and mutually beneficial cooperation, and play a bridge role to promote the stable development of US-China relations.
