During the ship’s stay, the crew members will participate in a number of events being organized by the Sri Lankan Navy to promote cooperation and goodwill between the two navies, according to the statement. They will also undertake a sightseeing tour at Trincomalee Port. Trincomalee was previously a stronghold of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). The crew of INS ‘Batti Malav’ carried out a ‘Visit Board Search and Seize’ (VBSS) training exercise at ‘Special Boat Squadron’ Headquarters in Trincomalee on Tuesday. INS ‘Batti Malav’ is 46 meters long. The ship is expected to depart the island nation on Wednesday and engage in a ‘Passage Exercise (PASSEX)’ with a Sri Lankan Navy ship.
