In which Bhavin Rabari won the ‘Breakthrough Performance Award’ for the film Last Film Show, while SS Rajamouli’s historical film RRR was given the Honorary Satellite Award.
Directed by Paan Nalin, Last Film Show is a Gujarati film based on the life of a remote village boy in Saurashtra. In which the story of a nine year old boy (Rabari) is told. Rabari’s cinema love is shown in this film. In which he spends the summer season watching movies from the projection booth of the ruined Cinema Palace.
The 13-year-old actor said in a statement, “I am very happy and would like to thank Nalin sir and Dheer bhai for giving me a chance to do this film. I hope we can make India proud and win many more such awards and bring home the Oscars.” The film’s director Nalin said, “It is heartening to see the love that the film and Bhavin are receiving. This award is really special as it reflects the hard work put in by him at such a young age.
