Washington: US President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump have won many seats in the ‘Super Tuesday’ elections held in many states across the country. After the results of ‘Super Tuesday’, the pressure on Trump’s last major rival Nikki Haley to withdraw from the race may increase. Elections were held in 16 states and one territory from Alaska and California to Vermont and Virginia on ‘Super Tuesday’. In this, votes of hundreds of delegates (party members representing voters) are received.
‘Super Tuesday’ is the day of the primary election process to select the presidential candidates of America, when primary and caucus elections are held in most of the states. Joe Biden and Trump won Maine, Oklahoma, Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee. Joe Biden has also won the Democratic primary elections in Massachusetts, Vermont and Iowa. 81-year-old Joe Biden and 77-year-old Trump, who are among the strong contenders for the post of President, are once again in the headlines. Both the leaders are maintaining their hold on the parties despite questions being raised about their age and widespread decline in popularity among the public.
Trump said on Fox & Friends on Tuesday, “We have to defeat Biden… He (Biden) is the worst president in history.” Biden, while responding to Trump’s attacks in one or two radio interviews, mentioned the support he was getting from black voters, who had helped strengthen his coalition in 2020. Joe Biden said that if we lose this election, you will once again be forced to go along with the rule of Donald Trump.
