In the video going viral, seven people can be seen wearing army uniforms inside a room. The video, recorded in a room with closed windows, shows six of them standing in a corner and another talking about his situation.
This comes days after the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said India was making all efforts to secure the release of around 20 Indians working as support staff in the Russian Army. A group of seven people have released a new video claiming they are being forced by Russia to fight in the Ukraine war against their will. In the video now going viral, seven people can be seen wearing army uniforms inside a room. The video, recorded in a room with closed windows, shows six of them standing in a corner and another talking about his situation.
In the video, a person can be heard saying in Hindi that we came to visit Russia as tourists for the New Year on December 27 and met an agent who helped us visit various places. They offered to take us to Belarus, but we didn’t know we would need a visa for that country. We went to Belarus where we gave him the money, but he asked for more money. He left us on a highway because we didn’t have money to pay him.
They claim that we were then caught by the police and handed over to the Russian army. They locked us at an unknown place for about three to four days. Later they forced us to sign a contract with them to work as helpers, drivers and cooks and threatened to send us to jail for 10 years failing which. The contract was in their language which we could not understand, but we signed it. They enrolled us in a training center and we later realized that they cheated us. They recruited and trained us in their army. Till now many people of Punjab, Kashmir, Karnataka, Gujarat and Telangana are trapped in Russia’s war with Ukraine. Most of them in search of better jobs arrived in Russia after being duped by promises of more money through YouTube channels.
@MEAIndia @DrSJaishankar @HMOIndia @AmitShah Please rescue them immediately. How terrible! #citizensasks#Punjab#GagandeepSingh#Ukraine#russia https://t.co/NxGqJcvL0S
