Khalistani supporter Avtar Singh Khanda died in Birmingham, now sister moves HC to bring his body to India

The sister of Avtar Singh Khanda, booked by the National Investigation Agency for the attack on the Indian High Commission in London in March, has filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking a direction to the central government to issue permission to bring his body Is. Please tell that Avtar Singh Khanda, a Khalistani supporter living in Britain and guiding Amritpal Singh, died in a hospital in Birmingham.

Jaspreet Kaur has sought directions to issue permission to bring her brother’s mortal remains from the United Kingdom to their home town Moga in Punjab to perform the last rites. Khanda died in Birmingham earlier this month. Kaur, in her petition, has said that Khanda died on June 15 at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospital and her body was lying there for postmortem and other tests. Kaur said in her petition that it was Khanda’s last wish that her body be cremated at Moga and the ashes be immersed at Kiratpur Sahib.

Kaur also said that she has made representations to the Indian High Commissioner’s office in London and the central government to issue permission to bring Khanda’s body from the UK, but has not yet received a response from them. So he filed a petition in the High Court, he said.
