Know when the deadliest earthquake occurred in the world, when the earth trembled

Washington: A strong earthquake of 7.8 magnitude occurred in Turkey and Syria, due to which more than five thousand people have died in these two countries so far. The death toll is expected to rise as rescuers search for people in the rubble of buildings. Here is a list of some of the deadliest earthquakes around the world since 2000.

– 22 June 2022: A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck Afghanistan, killing more than 1,100 people.

– 14 August 2021: More than 2200 people died due to a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Haiti.

– 28 September 2018: A 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck Indonesia. More than 4300 people died.

– 24 August 2016: More than 300 people died after a 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck central Italy.

– 25 April 2015: A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal. More than 8800 people lost their lives.

– 3 August 2014: A 6.2 magnitude earthquake was felt near Wenping, China. Due to this, more than 700 people died.

– 24 September 2013: More than 800 people died after a 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit southwest Pakistan.

March 11, 2011: A 9.0 magnitude earthquake triggered a tsunami in northeastern Japan. More than 20,000 people died.

– 27 February 2010: An 8.8 magnitude earthquake triggered a tsunami in Chile. 524 people died.
