PM Shehbaz Sharif said, some time back, some people shared with me in the (Speaker’s) chamber that a conspiracy was hatched to defer the plebiscite in Kashmir for the next 20 years. There can be no bigger conspiracy and cruelty with Kashmiris than this. I think no Pakistani politician or soldier can think of such a thing,” the prime minister said, Dawn reported.
Shahbaz cried the pain of IMF
According to the Dawn report, Prime Minister Sharif’s disclosure was a veiled confirmation of long-standing rumors about the Kashmir issue being on the backburner for 20 years through back-channel diplomacy. He did not give any details in this. He said- We are facing big financial challenges. As I speak to you here, the IMF delegation in Islamabad is examining every book and every penny of subsidy. Sharif said- We have to live, but like living nations, not with begging bowls. This has been happening in the last 75 years but somewhere it has to stop and it will stop when the whole country unites to challenge poverty, hunger and inflation and generate internal resources of the country.
