Deputy Inspector General of Malakand Division Nasir Mahmood Satti confirmed the marriage of Anju and Nasrullah and said that the Indian woman has been named Fatima after converting to Islam.
According to the news of ‘Geo News’, Satti said that the Indian woman has been sent home from the court under police protection. Earlier, on Monday, the two went out for a walk amidst tight security. Police officials said they visited the Lawari tunnel connecting Upper Dir district with Chitral district. In the pictures from the sightseeing tour, Anju and Nasrulla were seen sitting in a lush green garden and holding hands. Anju, who was born in Uttar Pradesh’s Kailore village and lives in Rajasthan’s Alwar district, shared a short video in which she says she “feels safe here” in Pakistan, Geo News reported on Tuesday. “I want to give a message to everyone that I have come here legally and with a plan,” Geo News reported on Tuesday. It is not a matter of two days that I have suddenly come here. I am safe here.” Anju said, “I request all media persons not to disturb my relatives and children.”
Anju was married to Arvind, who lives in Rajasthan. He has a 15-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son. Anju came to Pakistan legally from India through the Wagah-Attari border. According to an official document sent by Pakistan’s Interior Ministry to the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, it has been decided to grant Anju a 30-day visa only for Upper Dir district. Nasrullah is a science graduate from Sheringal-based University and is the youngest of five brothers. Nasrullah had said in an affidavit to the local authorities that there was no love angle in their friendship and that Anju would return to India on August 20. According to the affidavit, she will not even go out of Upper Dir district. “She has come to Pakistan on a one-month visa and all her documents are valid,” Upper Dir District Police Officer (DPO) Mushtaq Khan had said on Monday. “Anju has come to Pakistan from New Delhi for love and is living here happily,” Geo News quoted Khan as saying.
Anju’s husband Arvind told reporters in Rajasthan’s Bhiwadi that his wife had left home on Thursday saying she was going to Jaipur but later the family came to know that she was in Pakistan.He hoped that Anju would return home soon. The case of Seema Ghulam Haider is similar to that of Anju. A mother of four and a Pakistani national, Seema entered India illegally through Nepal to live with Sachin Meena.
