Mount Marapi Volcano explodes again, no casualties, people reached safe places

The Marapi Volcano Observation Post in West Sumatra province recorded a plume of ash reaching a height of about 1,300 meters during the eruption and then it appeared as if it was raining ash. Roads and vehicles of nearby villages were covered with ash.

At least 100 people were evacuated from nearby areas on Friday after Indonesian authorities issued a warning on Wednesday that the volcano was likely to rise from level two to level three or the second highest level. Such sudden explosions keep happening in Marapi volcano. Since this does not happen due to the movement of magma, it is difficult to predict the eruption. In early December also, there was a volcanic eruption here, due to which 24 climbers died and many others were injured.
