Dhaka (Uttam Hindu News): Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has commented that if there is any conspiracy from foreign countries to thwart the country’s national elections, then the people of this country will also impose sanctions on them. He said, there is no need to fear about the implementation of US visa policy on Bangladeshis. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made the comments at a press conference after addressing the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen was also with him. Highlighting the various activities of BNP-Jamaat in the name of stopping the elections, he told the journalists that there is a need to present all the facts clearly.
He said that those who issue the ban will also look at that, not one side. It should be seen who started it first. Approval will be given after seeing it. If Awami League has been targeted then I have nothing to say.
Regarding the American ban, the Prime Minister said that those who are saying this also have problems with the elections in their country. We can see what they are doing with their protests. Hasina said, we did not do this.
Stating that the Awami League (AL) did not come to power by believing in anyone’s power, he said, “We came to power by the people’s vote, no one handed it to us. Therefore, we want the elections to be transparent and free. Today’s ban has also been imposed on opposition parties.” Sheikh Hasina said, if someone wants to come to power through any other means instead of people’s power, then he should be punished. There is no possibility of taking power illegally. We have brought the democratic process and it will continue. The people of the country and the party Awami League will decide who will lead the Awami League in future.
