According to a BBC report, Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, who was on a visit to Nepal, met Chao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China. He told, ‘The Chinese official said that there should be no anti-China activities in Nepal.’ On this, the Nepalese speaker told him that his country already does not allow activities against China on its soil. But China asked to be more careful on this as there could be infiltration from the side of Tibetan refugees. In this meeting, the issue of India and America was also raised from the side of China.
Advice to be cautious from India-America
According to the report, the Nepali speaker said, ‘China is concerned about the activities of India and America in Nepal and has appealed to these countries to be careful. According to China’s official news agency, Chao Leji praised Nepal for supporting the One China policy and stopping anti-China activities in its country. On one hand, where China is engaged in increasing friendship with Nepal, on the other hand, relations between America and China are at the lowest level in decades. The tension on the border between China and India is also not hidden from anyone.
America needs India’s help
Talking about Nepal, its relations are good with both India and China. Some US experts believe that Washington, along with India, wants to end China’s influence in Nepal. American analyst Michael Kugelman said in January that the US views Nepal as a key part of its Indo-Pacific policy. According to him, the US feels that India can reduce China’s influence in Nepal and its traditional ties can play a big role in this. Recently the Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda came on a four-day visit to India. During this, he held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on several issues including the Kalapani border dispute.
