Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Rajendra Lingden discussed matters of mutual interest, including cooperation in the energy and water resources sector, with Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra on Tuesday. Kwatra, who is here on a two-day visit to Nepal, met Lingden at Singh Darbar. Kwatra also served as the Indian Ambassador to Nepal. According to sources close to Lingden, during the meeting the two sides discussed bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest as well as cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting focused on issues related to cooperation and coordination between the two countries for the development of energy and water resources sector, the sources said. Sources said while welcoming Kwatra, Lingden wished him a successful tenure. Lingden is also the chairman of the National Democratic Party. Kwatra is on his first visit to Nepal after taking over as Foreign Secretary.
