NITI Aayog calls for giving priority to technology and AI for elderly care in India

New Delhi: On Monday, NITI Aayog said that it is very important to focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the care of the elderly in India. NITI Aayog on Friday released a position paper titled ‘Senior Care Reform in India: Reimagining the Senior Care Paradigm’. NITI Aayog Chairman Suman Berry said on this special occasion, ‘This is a committed step taken by the Government of India towards achieving the objective of ‘Developed India 2047’.
He said, ‘It becomes important for all of us to prioritize technology on a large scale to provide high level care. Now the time has come to think about the special dimensions of senior care in addition to the medical and social dimensions. The recommendations in the position paper categorize the specific interventions required in terms of empowerment, service delivery and their inclusion under four main areas.
