Nuclear power works are going through a golden period in China

In addition, the business chain of nuclear energy is long and connected with tens of other businesses, which also has great significance for the stable growth of the Chinese economy. It can be said that Chinese nuclear power work is passing through its golden period. According to the introduction, by the end of the year 2023, there are a total of 20 built and under construction nuclear power stations in China. A total of 91 nuclear power units have been approved, whose installed capacity is 10 crore 3 lakh 40 thousand kilowatts. The number of power units operated in them is 55 and the installed capacity is 5 crore 69 lakh 10 thousand kilowatts, which is second in the world.

By the end of 2024, power production from 3 or 4 new nuclear power units will begin and the installed capacity will be more than 60 million kilowatts. If we look at the size of nuclear power projects under construction, China ranks first in the world.

Lu Tianchung pointed out that in addition to power generation, nuclear energy enterprises can actually perform many other functions, such as heating and gas supply, seawater desalination, isotope production, hydrogen production, etc. For example, China’s Ch’in Shan Nuclear Power Station and Hai Yang Nuclear Power Station continuously and safely supply heat to nearby civilian colonies.

Lu Tianchung said that after thirty years of struggle, China’s nuclear power technologies can now compete with the progressive countries of the world. China National Nuclear Power Corporation Group has exported seven nuclear power sets and 7 research reactors to 7 countries including Algeria, Pakistan, and has established cooperation relations with more than 60 countries and regions in the world.

Now the Chinese National Nuclear Power Cooperation Group is doing nuclear energy cooperative projects in many countries and regions, including Argentina, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kazakhstan. In addition to exporting nuclear energy technologies and services, China maintains extensive cooperation with international organizations. For example, China sends tens of experienced experts every year to the International Energy Agency and the World Nuclear Power Operators Association. He has made active contribution in the operation, construction and management of nuclear power stations of various countries.
