Tempe. US President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump won the primary elections of their respective parties on Tuesday, increasing the possibility of a re-match between these two leaders in the presidential elections to be held in November this year. Both the leaders are possible candidates of their respective parties.
Trump easily won the Republican primary elections in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Kansas and Ohio, while Biden has also won the Democratic Party primary elections held in these states except Florida. The Democratic Party in Florida canceled its primary and gave the support of all its 224 delegates to Biden.
At the same time, in the Republican Senate primary in Ohio, Trump-backed businessman Bernie Moreno defeated two contenders, including Ohio Chief Electoral Officer Frank LaRose and Matt Dolan. Trump, a Florida voter, told reporters after casting his vote Tuesday at a Palm Beach entertainment center, “I voted for Donald Trump.” Trump held a rally on Saturday in Ohio, which has supported the Republican Party for many years. Meanwhile, Biden visited Nevada and Arizona on Tuesday. Both these states are among the top priority states for both the contenders.
