Changsha (Best Hindu News): More than 3,000 people have been evacuated after heavy rains lashed parts of central China’s Hunan province from Saturday to Sunday morning, flooding different areas. The Provincial Flood and Drought Control Headquarters gave this information.
Torrential rains have lashed northwestern Hunan since Saturday, prompting emergency services to flood the counties of Songzhi, Shimen and Yongshun and the city of Zhangjiajie. The water level on the Lishui River at Sangzhi station was recorded at 259.21 metres, which is 2.71 meters above the danger mark and the water level has risen by 10.85 meters due to torrential rains.
Heavy rains have caused floodwaters to enter low-lying areas in the Songzhi county region, submerging some rural residences. In addition, roads along the Lishui River were closed due to flooding, and several county- and township-level roads were isolated due to heavy rains.
