The university kicked out the professor
The university said in a statement that the professor has been fired and blacklisted for the objectionable question. Pakistan’s Ministry of Science and Technology has also taken cognizance of the controversial question. The ministry has directed the university to probe the matter and punish the erring officials severely. Pakistan’s leaders, journalists and celebrities have opened a front against the professor for promoting obscenity in the society.
What was the controversial question?
The disputed question can be read in the exam paper going viral on social media. This question asks the test taker’s personal opinion on the ‘physical relationship between a brother and a sister’ in the context of a fictional event. A few days ago, the LUMS University of Lahore was also embroiled in controversies. Students in the university celebrated Bollywood Day in which they appeared in different characters from Hindi films. The conservatives lashed out at the students and the university for celebrating Bollywood Day. However, many celebrities also supported LUMS by replying to him.
