Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Putin was not ruling out a meeting with Wang Yi, the most senior foreign policy official of the Chinese Communist Party, on a visit to the Russian capital. Peskov described Russia-China relations as multifaceted and cooperative in nature.
Wang’s visit to Moscow comes at a time when US President Joe Biden made an unannounced visit to Ukraine on Monday and met with President Volodymyr Zelensky. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met Wang on Saturday on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. After the meeting, Blinken tweeted a warning to China against aiding Russia in Ukraine.
