Pakistan Election 2024: Imran Khan voted from Adiala Jail and Shehbaz Sharif from Lahore – Dainik Savera Times

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan on Thursday cast his vote for the general elections through postal ballot from Adayala Jail. Local media gave this information. However, Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi could not vote as she was convicted and arrested after the postal voting process was completed. Jail officials were quoted as saying that only prisoners with valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) have been allowed to vote.
In a post on Twitter on Wednesday, PTI’s Central Information Secretary Rauf Hasan had said that former Prime Minister Khan dedicated everything, including his life, to restore the dignity, respect and sovereignty of the country and ensure the welfare of the people. Hasan said, ‘As citizens of the country, we have to repay the debt. We should use our vote to change the face of Pakistan by ending the rotten system which has an evil grip on the country and its people.
Shahbaz Sharif also voted
Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) chief Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday cast his vote for the general elections in the country. According to reports, former Prime Minister Sharif cast his vote in Lahore’s Model Town constituency. Talking to media persons, Sharif said that the fate of his country is in the hands of the people. He expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements for voting. Acting Federal Information Minister Murtaza Solangi casts his vote at a polling booth in NA-46, Islamabad. Several people were killed and dozens injured in twin terrorist attacks in Pishin and Qila Saifullah in Balochistan province on Wednesday, on the eve of voting.
