Conditions not good for campaigning?
If some insiders are to be believed, the government will once again ask top officials to brief them about possible threats from terrorists in case elections are held in Punjab on May 14 on the orders of the Supreme Court. According to the report, a source said that military officials had informed the government that terrorist organizations had regrouped in the tribal districts bordering Afghanistan. So the conditions are not favorable for election campaign.

Emergency going to be imposed in Pakistan?
According to the newspaper report, another source claimed that considering the current situation, the option of ‘imposing emergency’ in the country may also be discussed in the meeting. Under Article 232 of the Constitution of Pakistan, emergency can be imposed on account of war and internal disturbance, for a maximum period of one year. However, a resolution passed by the Parliament is necessary to impose emergency. Imran Khan criticized the meeting, saying that the government would use security as an excuse to postpone the elections.
