A big news is coming out amid the ongoing tension with Azerbaijan regarding India-Armenia arms deal. Azerbaijan has made a big deal with Pakistan. Pakistan has cheated Azerbaijan badly in the name of help. China’s junk and Myanmar’s failed JF 17 is stuck in Azerbaijan. This is the biggest defense deal in the history of Pakistan so far. Actually, Azerbaijan has signed an agreement to buy JF 17 Block Three fighter jets worth $1.6 billion from Pakistan. This agreement was signed between Pakistan’s leading defense contractor Pakistan Aeronautics and Azerbaijan Air Force. It was called the biggest ever export agreement in the history of Pakistan.

The JF-17C Block III represents the latest iteration of this fighter aircraft. Capable of carrying 8 missiles of different types, it has modern radar and electronic warfare systems. Publicly available data suggests that the cost of such an aircraft is $25 million. With a deal worth more than $1.5 billion, Azerbaijan is set to overhaul its entire fleet of military aircraft by acquiring approximately 60 JF-17C Block III jets. While Azerbaijani media previously reported an agreement between Baku and Islamabad for the sale of JF-17 aircraft, the contract currently remains unsigned.

The JF-17 is expected to replace dozens of aging MiG-29 fighters that form the main air-to-air capability of the Azerbaijani Air Force. This aircraft will be capable of carrying guided weapons of Pakistani, Chinese and Turkish origin. There has been a war between Armenia and Azerbaijan for a long time. Azerbaijan was attacking Armenia with the help of Turkey and Pakistan. But then the matter of India giving its dangerous Pinaka rocket system to Armenia for self-defense came to light.
