Mumbai: The effect of profit made in banking and financial services sectors is visible in the stock market today. Indian benchmark indices started the week on a positive note. IndusInd Bank shares led the Sensex rally, surging over 5%. BSE Auto and BSE Realty also contributed majorly to the rally.

Today, all the sectoral indices were in the green in the Bombay Stock Exchange. However, among these, BSE Utilities and BSE Energy were the least successful sectors. Looking at the Advance Decline Ratio on BSE, today 2,120 stocks gained and 1,173 stocks declined. With this, the advance-decline ratio remained strongly in favor of advances.

At 10:55 am on Monday, the BSE Sensex rose 0.97% to a level of 61,644. The Nifty 50 index climbed 0.89% to reach the level of 18,229. On Sensex, IndusInd Bank, Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserv were top gainers, while Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Larsen & Toubro and Asian Paints were top losers.

The Broader Index lagged behind the Main Index today. Shares of top BSE smallcap gainer Ddev Plastiks Industries Ltd rallied over 12% and traded at a 52-week high on the BSE. The company announced that the board will consider the issue of dividend and bonus in its upcoming meeting.
