Islamabad (Uttam Hindu News): A report has come out regarding missing people in Pakistan. The Defense of Human Rights report states that more than three thousand people have been forcibly disappeared in Pakistan. Dawn quoted the report as saying that 3,120 people have been forcibly disappeared in Pakistan. The report says that 51 people have gone missing in the year 2023. With this this number has increased to 3,120. The report revealed that assistance has been provided to 120 families of missing persons.
Apart from this, eight new cases have been filed in different courts. However, one case has been resolved. The report also revealed that orders were issued from the court in the case of missing people, but despite this the people have not been recovered. The report said that the NGO had recently placed the cases of 69 missing Baloch students before the High Court, after which the court had issued a strong comment on the matter and directed the government to do so.
Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry and Human Rights Minister said that 22 students have been traced, while 28 are still missing. However, the court expressed dissatisfaction and warned of possible legal action against the Home Minister and the Prime Minister if the cases were not addressed promptly.
Apart from this, the report said that the court had ordered compensation to the victims’ families, but the court’s orders were not followed and the families have not yet received the compensation. Let us tell you that about 10,000 cases of forced disappearance have been registered in Pakistan.
