PM Modi Egypt Visit: Egyptian poet’s ‘Gandhi’ poem displayed in PM’s hotel, pictures of Al Sisi’s visit to India seen

PM Modi reached Cairo after a successful visit to America. The visit is at the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. He had extended the invitation to PM Modi in January when he attended the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi as the chief guest. This is PM Modi’s first visit to Egypt as Prime Minister. On his arrival in Cairo, PM Modi was accorded a ceremonial welcome and a guard of honor and received special honors at the airport by his Egyptian counterpart Mustafa Madbouly.

The India-Egypt bilateral trade agreement, established in March 1978 and governed by the Most Favored Nation clause, serves as a foundation for their trade relations, according to Egypt’s Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS). In addition, India and Egypt enjoy strong political relations based on a rich history of cooperation and mutual understanding. Their engagement extends to bilateral, regional and global affairs, reflecting the close relationship between the two countries.
