PM Modi In Egypt: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Egypt for two days; carot jaloshi welcome

Cairo (Egypt); Pudhari Online : At the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Cairo on Saturday for a two-day state visit. Modi was welcomed by Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly at the airport here. PM Modi was given ‘Guard of Honour’ on his arrival in Cairo. Modi will hold talks with Al-Sisi on Sunday and discuss ways to drive the strategic partnership between the two major countries. “I am very happy to make my first state visit to a close and friendly country (Egypt),” the Prime Minister said in his departure request in New Delhi on Tuesday. Honored to welcome President Sisi as the chief guest at the ceremony. Or both visits, a few months apart, would have given a glimpse of our fast-growing partnership with Egypt, which would have been transformed into a “strategic partnership” during President Sisi’s visit. Prime Minister Modi would have said, “I look forward to my discussions with President Sisi and senior members of the Egyptian government to give more momentum to the civilizational and multifaceted partnership of the two countries.” I will get the opportunity to have a dialogue with the Indian people in Egypt. Indian Ambassador to Egypt Ajit Gupte has said that India’s multi-faceted relationship with Egypt has been transformed into a ‘strategic partnership’ this year and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first state visit to the important West Asian nation will further strengthen the bilateral strategic ties. This is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Egypt after 1997.

Egypt is the Arab country with the largest population and it is at a strategically important place. Gupte said, “Arab world is a big influence of Egypt. Therefore Egypt is a very important regional player and represents the aspirations of the developing countries. We think that Egypt’s participation in the G-20 would be very appropriate. Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Cairo visited the ‘Heliopolis Commonwealth War Grave Cemetery’, a memorial dedicated to the memory of the approximately 3799 soldiers of the Indian Army who served and died in the First World War in Egypt and Palestine.

Apart from this, Prime Minister Modi will visit the 11th century Al-Hakim Mashdilahi, which was renovated with the help of the Dawoodi Bohra community. The same mosque would have come to bind the rule of the Fatimid dynasty. The Bora community in India actually came from the Fatimid dynasty and they did renovations in Masjid since 1970. Or Modi is going to visit the Indian community only.
