Both the leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations during the meeting. The two countries are celebrating 50 years of diplomatic ties this year. They agreed to deepen cooperation in the areas of trade and investment, high technology, IT hardware manufacturing, defence, semiconductors and culture, according to the ministry.

According to the statement, the two leaders also discussed India’s G20 chairmanship and South Korea’s Indo-Pacific strategy. India, the US and many other global powers are committed to a free, open and prosperous Indo-Pacific in view of China’s growing military interference in the region.
