New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday condemned the terrorist attack in the Russian capital Moscow, saying, “India stands in solidarity with the government and people of the Russian Federation in this hour of grief.” Modi wrote on Twitter, “We strongly condemn the heinous terrorist attack in Moscow. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims. India stands in solidarity with the Government and people of the Russian Federation in this hour of grief.”
It is noteworthy that the terrorist attack in Moscow occurred on Friday night when a group of armed people stormed the Crocus City Hall concert venue in Moscow, opened fire and detonated an explosive device. According to the Russian Health Department, more than 60 people have died. Health officials said about 145 people were injured and about 60 of them were in critical condition. Meanwhile, terrorist organization ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement posted by its Amaq news agency, saying its fighters had attacked the outskirts of Moscow. “The incident killed and injured hundreds of people and caused massive destruction at the site before they retreated to safe havens.”
