Moscow, March 23 (HS). More than 60 people died in the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall (music venue) in Krasnogorsk city of Moscow, the capital of Russia. According to Russia’s state news agency Tass, the attack took place on Friday evening.
Tass quoted a source in the Russian investigative agency as saying that unidentified gunmen armed with assault rifles stormed the Crocus City Hall and opened fire. During this time the building shook and caught fire due to the explosion. Preliminary investigation has confirmed that more than 60 people were killed in the terrorist attack. The number of deaths is expected to increase. The crime scene was investigated by experts from the Russian Investigative Committee together with operational units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Federal Security Service.
The Health Department of the city of Krasnogorsk has released a list of the injured. According to the health department, 80 people were taken to Moscow hospitals as of 2:00 am Moscow time following the terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall. The department has not given any information about the condition of the people admitted to the hospital. Meanwhile, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has canceled all mass events in the capital over the next two days.
