Washington (Uttam Hindu News): Indian-American presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has vowed to withdraw his name from the Colorado primary ballot if former President Donald Trump’s “disqualification” is not reversed.
Ramaswamy’s move comes after the Colorado Supreme Court on Tuesday banned Trump from running in the state’s presidential primary election. The court ruled that he was involved in “rebellion” on 6 January 2021.
Coming out strongly in support of his Republican presidential rival, Ramaswamy said in a post on A group of Democrat judges is blocking Trump in Colorado.
“I pledge to withdraw from the Colorado GOP primary if Trump is not allowed to participate in the state’s election process.”
Additionally, the 38-year-old entrepreneur also urged his fellow Republican presidential candidates – Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie and Nikki Haley – to do the same “immediately”.
He said their failure to do so would mean “that they are tacitly supporting this illegal maneuver that will have disastrous consequences for our country”.

A Trump campaign spokesman said an appeal would be filed Tuesday night.
According to Fox News, Trump-related disqualification lawsuits are pending in 13 states, including Texas, Nevada and Wisconsin.
