Reliance deposited 5 lakh crores in government treasury in 3 years, number one in providing jobs

New Delhi : Reliance Industries Limited has deposited Rs 5 lakh 653 crore in the exchequer in the last three years. This amount has been deposited in direct and indirect tax, spectrum usage charges and other items. Reliance has paid 1.77 lakh crore in the financial year 2022-23. This was revealed in the company’s annual report ahead of the company’s 46th Annual General Meeting (AGM). The annual general meeting of the company will be held on August 28.
How much the money paid by Reliance in the last three years is estimated from the fact that it is more than 5% of the total budgeted expenditure of the Government of India. In the previous financial year also, Reliance had contributed Rs 1.88 lakh to the government exchequer. Reliance remains the highest tax paying company in the country.
Reliance was also number one in providing jobs. According to the annual report, in the financial year 2022-23, Reliance has created 95,167 new jobs, including these, the total number of employees in Reliance has increased to 3.89 lakhs. Of these, with more than 2.45 lakh employees, Reliance Retail has become one of the largest employers in the country. More than 95 thousand people are working in Reliance Jio. This is the third year in a row that Reliance has created thousands of new jobs. Even in the era of Kovid, the company had created 75 thousand new jobs.
