Rome. The roof of a centuries-old building in a rural area near the city of Pistoia in the Tuscany region of Italy collapsed during a wedding ceremony, injuring 30 people. Governor Eugenio Giani said in a post on the ‘Telegram’ app that 30 people were injured in the roof collapse, of which five were in critical condition. He told that the ceremony was being held in a restaurant built on a mountain top, which used to be a convent in the 15th century.
The Governor said that the injured have been admitted to different hospitals in the area. Italian news agency ‘ANSA’ reported that firefighters pulled people out of the debris. There is no information about anyone missing. Officials said the cause of the roof collapse was being investigated.
