He criticized the President for not commenting on Imran Khan’s failure to appear in courts. The Prime Minister asserted that the present government has ensured that there is ‘full freedom of expression, as enshrined under Article 19 of the Constitution’.

Referring to attacks on media persons and journalists, PM Shehbaz Sharif also criticized the former PTI government for keeping the National Human Rights Commission (NCHR) inactive for most of its tenure. According to Geo News, the Pak PM drew the President’s attention towards political harassment of opposition MPs during the PTI regime. He further said that the Constitution does not vest any power or assign any function to the President whereby the President can seek an explanation from the Government or the Prime Minister.

President reprimanded

He said that the President’s decision to give the date of election to the KP Assembly was set aside by the apex court.
