Social media platform ‘X’ suspends more than 2 lakh accounts in India

Pudhari Online Desk: Elon Musk or social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has suspended 2 lakh 12 thousand 627 accounts in India between 26 February and 25 March. The micro-blogging platform has made it clear that it will take strict action against all the violating rules.
Social media platform X has become famous for its monthly compliance report. Following the new ‘IT’ rules, 2021, the company has suspended more than 213,000 accounts in India between February 26 and March 25. Additionally, X has taken action against 1,235 accounts promoting terrorism on its platform in India. During this period, 5,158 complaints were received from users in India.
“There have been several measures taken in the last few days regarding taking action against child sexual exploitation and spreading of terroristic messages on Aamchi platform. The Company does not tolerate any text, photos or videos featuring or encouraging child sexual exploitation. The Company expressly removes any such text, images or computer-derived images.
