South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Ramesh Vaghasia and Honorary Minister Nikhil Madrasi are on a visit to Dubai to visit various Chambers of Commerce and Business Associations under SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84. The Chamber President met with Paul Boots, representative of Dubai Global Connect, in Dubai. Dubai Global Connect, an initiative of the Investment Corporation of Dubai, is an international market centre. Dubai Global Connect is creating a common physical platform for secure and easy trading between buyers and sellers around the world, enabling traders around the world to buy and sell in one place, using SGCCI’s online international platform. But it is actually going to come true.

Chamber President Ramesh Vaghasia briefed Paul Boots, representative of Dubai Global Connect, about the various activities of SGCCI, which has been operating for the last 84 years with the aim of developing trade and industry in the entire South Gujarat including Surat. He informed them about the SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84 project. He said that under Mission 84, the industrialists of South Gujarat can come in direct contact with the businessmen of Dubai, so that they can sell products and services to each other. Also, the Chamber of Commerce is making continuous efforts to strengthen trade relations among themselves and to increase exports from India.

He requested Paul Boots, representative of Dubai Global Connect, to join Mission 84 to further strengthen bilateral trade relations between India and Dubai. Paul Boots also assured full support to the Chamber of Commerce’s ambitious Mission 84 project. Also said that in future we will try to bring a platform for the businessmen of Surat and the businessmen of Dubai. The Chamber President invited him to visit the Chamber of Commerce and various industries in Surat along with businessmen from Dubai, which Paul Boots gladly accepted.

A face-to-face meeting was held with officials of the Textile Merchants Group of Dubai (TEXMAS) on the morning of Wednesday, November 29, 2023. In which Chamber President Ramesh Vaghasia and Honorary Minister Nikhil Madrasi and TEXMAS President Jagdish Amarnani, General Secretary Sachuv Manwani and Joint Secretary Kishore Savlani were present. TEXMAS is an apex body of over 350 international traders formed by Textile Traders of Dubai and its members import-export with over 90 countries across the world.

The Chamber President requested Texas officials to join him in detailing SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84. The Texmas chairman also said that he would support the Mission 84 project so that the textile industrialists of Surat can trade directly with the industrialists of Dubai. In this meeting, how can the textile industrialists of South Gujarat including Surat benefit from the developed textile industry of Dubai? Also, how can textile products from Surat entrepreneurs be exported to traders in Dubai? There was extensive discussion regarding this between the Chamber of Commerce and Texas officials.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, November 29, 2023, the Chamber President and Honorary Minister held a meeting with Marwan Saleh, Director of Sales and Business Development, Dubai Multi Commodities Center (DMCC). The Dubai Multi Commodities Center in Dubai is the world’s most interconnected economic free trade zone. DMCC is home to over 4000 companies doing business globally.

The Chamber President gave a presentation of the SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84 project to the Director of DMCC, who was very impressed and keen to join Mission 84. In this regard, an MoU will be signed between South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and Dubai Multi Commodities Center (DMCC) under Mission 84 in future, under which the owners of the companies located in the premises of DMCC will Extensive discussions were held regarding joint efforts to facilitate business in Dubai for the benefit of Mission 84 through its online international portal and connecting with the industrialists of South Gujarat.
