Minister of State for Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Saturday said the world of semiconductor, electronics and innovation is going through a fundamental change in the post-corona era and urged like-minded countries to work together to create a collaborative framework for a bright future for technology. Speaking at a panel discussion on ‘Eleven of Democracy: Protecting Our Technological Future’ at the Raisina Dialogue 2023 conference held here, Chandrasekhar expressed hope that these principles would play a wider role among other countries if there is global cooperation. Responding to a question on internet restrictions in India, Chandrasekhar said internet restrictions in India as a percentage of the total number of online users and the diversity or vastness of the content ecosystem are among the lowest in the world.

Along with this, he said that the process of banning the internet or removing any social media post has been done according to the law and in special circumstances, the government has ordered it only by following the law. He said that post-Covid, the digital supply chain, value chain, innovation ecosystem and critical technology ecosystem are undergoing deep structural changes. He said that the world order is being reshaped in semiconductor, electronics and innovation but no country can do this work alone.
