When the judge was giving the verdict in the American court, a man attacked her. Las Vegas resident Diobra Redden was appearing in a case in Nevada Court of America. In the case, Judge Mary Kay Holthus found Redden guilty and began sentencing. Meanwhile, Reddan suddenly started attacking the female judge. Just before the attack, Redden’s lawyer had asked that he not be sent to jail. But the judge rejected this demand and then Redden attacked. A courtroom marshal who intervened was hit on the head and also suffered a shoulder injury. Due to which hospital treatment was required. The attack took place at the Regional Justice Center at around 11 am.
In a statement released to Fox 5, the judge praised the heroism of all those involved in restraining the suspect during the attack. The woman judge said that the court is committed to a safe court house and court room. We are reviewing all our protocols. Do whatever is necessary to protect the judiciary, the public and our employees.
