Rafah: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Saturday appealed for a ceasefire in Gaza to allow more aid, saying the world has seen the horrors of war here. This information was given by Dawn newspaper on Sunday. Mr Guterres, who arrived at the Rafah crossing on the Egyptian side of Gaza near Gaza, appealed for a ceasefire, but Israel remained committed to sending ground troops against Hamas fighters despite appeals from Mr Guterres and other world leaders, the newspaper reported. Gaza’s health ministry gave its latest update on Saturday, saying at least 72 people were killed overnight.
