Peshawar. At least four people were killed and three others injured on Sunday when unidentified gunmen opened fire on two vehicles in Pakistan’s restive Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province. Police gave this information.

According to ‘Dawn News’, District Police Officer (DPO) Mohammad Imran said that the attackers armed with automatic weapons targeted two vehicles on the way from Parachinar to Peshawar. He said two security personnel were also among those killed in the attack near Sadda market in Khurram district. The DPO said that efforts are on to arrest the attackers.

No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack, but communal clashes between Sunnis and Shias continue to occur in the region. Deputy Medical Superintendent of Parachinar District Headquarters Hospital, Dr Qaiser Abbas, confirmed that the injured have been admitted to the hospital.
