[ad_1]
On Wednesday, a senior US diplomat for East Asia said that America will increase its cooperation with India in the South China Sea. China has border disputes with several countries in the South China Sea and claims Dragon Taiwan as its own. The South China Sea is a place in the world which is very important from a strategic point of view. Every year $ 3 trillion trade is done through ships from here. China practically claims that this entire maritime area belongs to it.
India-America the closest partner in the world
China says that disputes should be resolved by regional governments and there should be no interference from outside forces. America has given this statement at a time when both America and India have declared themselves as the closest partners in the world last week. Both countries have announced this during PM Modi’s visit to America. During this, both Biden and PM Modi had emphasized on removing the challenges in maritime shipping according to international law.
US official Daniel Krittenbrink said that the US has found that China’s assertiveness in disputed waters has increased markedly and continuously. Asked whether India would have a greater role and cooperation in the South China Sea, he said, ‘Yes.’ He said that there will be extensive cooperation in the countries of the Quad, a group of regional powers, America, Japan, India and Australia. China is constantly threatening to attack Taiwan which has legal protection from America. This is the reason why America wants India’s support.
